remembering Tim Kwekel (altho he's still alive)

...so this is the ONLY photo of I have of my old friend Tim Kwekel...shown here at our house in Bellflower, California around 1985 or 86' ? This was when we were still relatively new to southern Cal, having moved from Grand Rapids (MI) to Bellflower in 1984. I knew Tim from Grand Rapids, we went to the same high school, played football together, and had a few crazy times at little Pando ski club, not far from his family house. If he reads this he will know what i'm talking about and be laughing. . His family moved to Florida around the same time we moved to California, and he went into the marines and ended up at camp Pendleton (San Diego), and somehow we connected after he was finishing with the marines, and was planning on driving from California to Grand Rapids (where he still had a family home, despite the move to Florida) at the same time I was preparing to go back to Michigan for another year at college. So we drove together in his classic old nova...a week or so on the road in warm summer weather. We had a fun time. Last time I was in Grand Rapids I saw big signs for "Kwekel Real Estate" ...guess he's a bigwig in the real estate business now...and married with children. Here's to Tim Kwekel!
